TransAKT designs, manufactures, and distributes products relating to the communications and information technology industries. The company is based in Calgary, Alberta, with main operations in Taipei, Taiwan. Through its wholly -owned subsidiary Taiwan Halee International (HTT), TransAKT is one of the largest distributors of telecommunications equipment for the Small Office-Home Office market, with more than 650 distribution outlets in Taiwan. TransAKT also designs, manufactures and sells its own products that combine the latest technologies in voice communications, voice over IP, GSM and Wi-Fi technologies. The Company designs and distributes its own line of products and has exclusive distribution agreements for Taiwan with several of the world's leading brands in telecommunications including Panasonic, Sanyo, Siemens and Vito.
In April 2007, the company became the official distributor of telecommunications equipment for Panasonic, in Taiwan. This contract is expected to bring additional sales of US$10 million dollars per year.
TransAKT has plans to expand its operations world wide, starting in Asia in 2007. The company started distribution of products to Malaysia and Vietnam in 2007 and is in the process of expanding into China. In April 2007 TransAKT entered into merger discussions with Lang Sheng Ltd., the exclusive distributor for Sanyo telecommunication products in China. Sanyo is a well-known brand name for its telecommunication products worldwide, and is widely accepted by Chinese customers. On August 13, 2007 the Company announced that it had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Lang Sheng Ltd. which will facilitate the merger of TransAKT Ltd. and Lang Sheng Ltd within the next six months. Lang Sheng Ltd has built up a profitable sales channel in China with annual revenues of approximately US $15 million.
TransAKT has its own research team and develops cutting-edge telecommunication products. TransAKT has just released products that combine the latest technologies in voice communications, VoIP, GSM, Wi-Fi technologies and has entered into a partnership with Sanyo to develop a GSM/Wi-Fi phone.
